What local SEO is today

Local SEO is not just having a Google business profile. It is the set of signals that make your business appear when someone searches for a service nearby: in the Local Pack (the three results with a map), on Google Maps and in organic results with a geographic component.

Google cross-checks information from your profile, website, reviews… If it is not up to date, your organic visibility will suffer.

Google Business Profile

The profile is the most visible piece of the local ecosystem. Primary and secondary categories, description, services, attributes, photos, hours, service area and posts: each field has a role in the local SEO ecosystem.

What we review on the profile

  • Categories and services aligned with what your customers search for
  • NAP consistency (name, address, phone) with website and other directories
  • Hours, holidays and status (open/temporarily closed)
  • Photos, posts and review responses

Google Maps and Local Pack

The local algorithm weighs relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot control distance; relevance (how well you match the search) and prominence (authority, reviews, brand signals) you can.

Appearing in the pack of three is not a linear ranking. It depends on where the searcher is, what device they use and their history. That is why tracking has to look at real searches in your area, not just generic positions in a tool.

Website and business profiles

The website still matters in local: it supports the profile, captures searches that do not end on Maps and provides context (services, indicative pricing, team, case studies). The usual mistake is treating the website as a generic showcase and the profile as something separate.

If you have several stores, we can also help with multi-location local SEO.

Reviews

Reviews influence conversion and prominence. We work on strategy: how to ask for them, how to respond (including negative ones) and how to align what they say with what the website promises.

How we work

  1. Diagnosis. After a conversation to define scope, we review profile, website, local competition and searches that matter in your area to assess your local visibility.
  2. Prioritised plan. Based on that diagnosis, we order actions by impact and effort. No lists of 200 tasks to justify hours.
  3. Support while your team implements. On the website, we support your team; we only implement on very small projects.
  4. Google profile management. We can manage it directly.
  5. Tracking. Metrics that matter to the business: calls, directions, clicks to website, profile impressions and progress on target searches.

If you only want a focused starting point, the local SEO audit summarises the current state and priorities.

Frequently asked questions

How long does local SEO take to show results?

It depends on the starting point and competition in your area. Profile fixes can show within weeks; gaining prominence against established rivals usually takes months. Be wary of anyone who promises the pack in 30 days without seeing your case.

Do I need a website if I already have a Google profile?

You can get calls from a profile alone, but the website strengthens authority, captures informational searches and gives you control over content and conversion. In many sectors, profile-only businesses end up fully dependent on the local algorithm.

How are we different from a local SEO agency?

We are consultants: judgement, diagnosis and prioritisation. We do not sell a fixed monthly package with X articles and X profile posts. We work with you according to the real complexity of the business, including multi-store retail or environments with technical debt in Joomla, Magento or legacy CMS.

Do we work outside Madrid?

Yes. Local SEO does not require the consultant to be in your city; it requires understanding your local market and searches. We have experience with regional and multi-store operations across different regions.

Shall we talk?

Tell us about your business and we will see whether an audit, focused support or a broader project fits.
